Vanking (Vancomycin Hydrochloride) 250 mg Injection is a glycopeptide antibiotic used for severe infections caused by gram-positive bacteria, especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It is reserved for cases where other antibiotics are ineffective or unsuitable.
Indications:-
Serious Gram-Positive Infections: Effective against MRSA and resistant staphylococci or streptococci.
-
Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: For complicated or deep-seated infections.
-
Endocarditis: Treats infections of the heart valves caused by susceptible organisms.
-
Bone and Joint Infections: Useful in osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.
-
Lower Respiratory Tract Infections: For hospital-acquired or ventilator-associated pneumonia due to sensitive bacteria.
Vancomycin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to peptidoglycan precursors, preventing cell wall formation and causing bacterial lysis. It is active mainly against gram-positive bacteria, including resistant strains such as MRSA and enterococci.
Dosage and Administration:-
Dosage: Adjusted by infection severity, body weight, and renal function. Typical adult dose: 15–20 mg/kg every 8–12 hours.
-
Administration: For intravenous use only. Infuse slowly over at least 60 minutes to avoid infusion reactions like “Red Man Syndrome.”
-
Renal Impairment: Requires dose adjustment and monitoring of serum levels.
-
Hypersensitivity to vancomycin or any formulation component.
-
Use cautiously in patients allergic to glycopeptide antibiotics.
-
Renal Toxicity: Monitor kidney function closely, especially with concurrent nephrotoxic drugs.
-
Ototoxicity: Risk increases in renal impairment or prolonged therapy.
-
Infusion Reactions: Rapid administration may cause flushing, rash, or hypotension; infuse slowly.
-
Superinfection: Long-term use may cause overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.
-
Common: Nausea, fever, chills, and injection site pain.
-
Serious: Nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, severe hypersensitivity, and hypotension during infusion.
Caution when used with nephrotoxic or ototoxic drugs (e.g., aminoglycosides, amphotericin B, loop diuretics) as combined use may increase toxicity risk.
Storage:Store below 25°C (77°F), protect from light, and keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze.
Patient Counseling:-
Advise patients to complete the full course.
-
Report hearing loss, rash, or reduced urine output immediately.
-
Inform that slow infusion helps prevent flushing and other reactions.
-
Emphasize the need for periodic kidney monitoring during treatment.
Vanking (Vancomycin Hydrochloride) 250 mg Injection is an essential treatment for severe gram-positive bacterial infections, including MRSA. Careful dosing, slow administration, and proper monitoring help ensure safety and effectiveness. Always use under qualified medical supervision.

Evertor 10 mg Tablet contains Everolimus, an anticancer and immunosuppressant medicine. It is used for treating certain advanced cancers and for preventing organ transplant rejection. Breast Cancer: For hormone-receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer with hormonal therapy.
-
Kidney Cancer: For advanced or metastatic renal cell carcinoma.

Neuroendocrine Tumors: For pancreatic, lung, or gastrointestinal tumors.
-
Organ Transplants: Used in lower doses to prevent kidney or liver transplant rejection.
Evertor blocks the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) pathway that controls cell growth and division.
-
In cancer, it slows tumor cell multiplication and reduces blood vessel formation.
-
In transplants, it lowers immune cell activity, helping prevent rejection.
-
Dose: Usually 10 mg once daily for cancer; smaller doses for transplant use.
